💬 Reddit Community Edition
You Asked. Naperville Parents Answered. 🤩
A few weeks ago we asked Naperville parents on Reddit where they really take their kids — not the obvious stuff, but the real gems. You delivered in a big way. Thirty-plus comments, dozens of spots, and a handful of hidden gems we honestly hadn’t heard of before. We couldn’t be more grateful.
This week’s issue is built entirely from your recommendations. Every pick below came straight from the Naperville parent community — real suggestions from real families who actually live this stuff. We’ll be featuring more Reddit gems in upcoming issues too, so keep an eye out!
🌿 This week: A hilltop with skyline views, a FREE tabletop RPG club at the library, and a family restaurant unlike anything else in Naperville. All parent-approved. All worth your weekend.

✨ Why We Love It
It’s free, it’s beautiful, and it feels like a real adventure — even if you’re only 20 minutes from home. The climb to the overlook is the perfect length for young kids: challenging enough to feel like an accomplishment, short enough that nobody melts down on the way up. Weekends May through October from 11 AM to 6 PM. Bring snacks, a blanket, and a camera — that skyline shot is an instant family photo win.

👶 Grades 3–6 🕐 Check Library Calendar for Sessions
Did you know the Naperville Public Library runs a tabletop RPG storytelling club for kids? Because multiple Naperville parents on Reddit definitely do — and they called it out by name. The Adventurers Club is a collaborative storytelling and roleplaying program for grades 3 through 6, held at both the 95th Street Library (3015 Cedar Glade Dr) and the Naper Blvd Library (2035 S. Naper Blvd). Kids build characters, go on quests, and develop creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a welcoming, guided environment. No experience with D&D or RPGs required — librarians lead the sessions and everything is age-appropriate and beginner-friendly.

✨ Why We Love It
Naperville parents on Reddit collectively agree: “The libraries are incredible.” The Adventurers Club is a perfect example of why — it’s imaginative, social, completely free, and run by people who genuinely love working with kids. If your kid is the type who gets lost in stories, builds elaborate worlds in Minecraft, or just needs a crew to be creative with, this club could be their new favorite thing. Registration is required for most sessions, so check the library calendar and sign up early before spots fill!

✨ Why We Love It
A restaurant where parents can eat hot food in peace while kids play nearby? That’s not a restaurant — that’s a lifestyle upgrade. Milliy’s is also fully Halal, making it a welcome option for families who can’t always find good Halal dining in the suburbs. The food is rich and deeply flavored — think hearty rice dishes, grilled meats, and freshly baked bread that makes the whole table happy. This one came highly recommended by multiple parents in our Reddit thread, and it’s easy to see why it’s become a family favorite.
